In 2007 after extensive experience in the importation of equipment, flavours and other ingredients used in the manufacture of artisan Gelato the Directors of Silverfern Foods established their first Gelato Store in Ponsonby, Auckland, New Zealand.
The objective was clear, to make a Premium Artisan Gelato with an emphasis on the use of as many natural ingredients as possible.
The success of this initial operation led to the establishment of eight stores Auckland wide which today still set the benchmark for Gelato in New Zealand.
Since the first store we have worked diligently on creating a range of bases and flavours that are free of artificial colours and flavours that represent the best of New Zealand, Strawberries from Auckland, Bluberries from the Waikato, Peaches from Hawkes Bay, Apricots and Cherries from Central Otago the list goes on as every region in New Zealand contributes the best of their produce which is carefully processed to make our fruit pastes and toppings.
Our 100% pure nut pastes (Hazelnut, Pistachio and Almond) are sourced directly from the processor in Italy while the Pineapple, Mango and Passionfruit are each sourced from premium fruit suppliers in their countries of origin.
